Why Walk My Way?

Walk My Way commenced in 2017 as a way for Australians to support refugee children in East Africa and Myanmar to access education. For just $26 it is possible to help a refugee child to go to school for a whole year! The walk is also a poignant reminder of the journey that children and families often take when they flee conflict or disaster.

Walk My Way events have been held across the country from Perth to Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Darwin. They are a fun way to gather in community and reach out in love to some of the most vulnerable people in the world.

In recent years, communities have also used Walk My Way to raise awareness and support for humanitarian aid and development projects that they are passionate about... for example, the earthquake response in Turkiye/Syria and flooding in Myanmar. So while the standard Walk My Way event focusses on supporting refugee children, it is possible to focus on other areas of need.

Regardless of why you walk... when you register you’ll automatically create a personal fundraising page to share with your family and friends. Your family, friends and colleagues can donate any amount they like to support you.
